he holidays are a time for festive fun, family gatherings and good cheer. They are also a time to obey the laws by not driving impaired. For eight consecutive holiday seasons, R.I.D.E. CHECKS has helped promote safety on the roads through its rewards program. R.I.D.E. CHECKS supports the efforts of police services in the Greater Toronto and surrounding areas by allowing them to reward law abiding citizens stopped during R.I.D.E. roadside spot checks with a small token of their appreciation. The R.I.D.E. CHECKS rewards booklet delivers value-added coupons as well as important safety information and laws pertaining to driving impaired. This year, R.I.D.E. CHECKS will issue another holiday rewards booklet. Beginning November 20, 2017 through January 2018, R.I.D.E. CHECKS holiday rewards booklets will be distributed through police services throughout the GTA.

What are R.I.D.E. CHECKS spot checks?

During the holiday season, Police Services set up spot checks throughout the GTA to randomly screen motorists for driving impaired. Police award responsible drivers with R.I.D.E. CHECKS Rewards booklets for obeying the laws.

When is the R.I.D.E. CHECKS launch?

The R.I.D.E. CHECKS launch takes place on November 19 at Humber College North Campus 205, Humber College Boulevard, Toronto. Attendees include news media, program sponsors, police services and Humber College staff and students.

When are the Booklets distributed?

The booklets begin getting distributed following the November 19 launch.

What's the R.I.D.E. CHECKS booklet?

The R.I.D.E. CHECKS Rewards booklet is a full colour, value added booklet of coupons, ads and information regarding the laws of impaired driving in Ontario and the consequences of such a violation.

The 2017-18 version of the R.I.D.E. CHECKS booklet will be a handy reference guide detailing the costs and consequences for an impaired driving conviction. In addition, it will include safe driving tips for all seasons and information on newly initiated legislation.
